The training session that day had been…difficult.
Asia had struggled, not able to wrap her head around whatever it was Mr.Amical had wanted her to do. Her head had throbbed from the mental effort, and Mr T- Billy’s words had hurt. Of course she was trying, and of course she wanted to get out and see Ken again. (and though she didn’t wish to give him the satisfaction…yes, she did want to wear clean clothes again. She had made a note to check with Mr. Malloy on that)
She had fled to the room she shared with Miss Adrestia. Her stomach gurgling in protest at her not stopping to get a sandwich first. She ignored it.
"Oh! Hello I um, didn’t expect you to be up here so soon… I mean of course you can do whatever you wish…sort of…but I thought I had some extra time to-"
Asia didn’t mean to cut her off, but did so anyway. Her death glare didn’t often get used but when it did…well…there were several young children who lived near her and Ken who thought she was mean for it. She didn’t even get a moment to apologize before the woman zipped out of the room.
She sat on the edge of her bed and listened to her footsteps stumble down the hall, followed by what sounded like the scuff of sneakers. Asia grabbed one of the books on Magic Malloy had managed to get for her and pretended to be absorbed in it when Miss Adrestia walked in.
The blond woman flung herself onto her own bed, arms outstretched until her shoulders gave a loud crack. Asia winced at the sound.
"Still researching, Bookworm?" She asked, sitting up again to take off her shoes.
Asia glanced down at the book she had opened (She had been dutifully studying the table of contents.) and nodded.
"Important uh…" She tilted her head, attempting to read the spine. "Ker-e-ble.."
“Cerebral Magica” Asia corrected. “And um…yes?”
Adrestia shoved a wayward strand of her blond hair back off of her face. “Whatever.”
Asia opened to an actual page in the book, but didn’t actual absorb any of the words on the page.
"You…did well today." Asia said, attempting small talk.
A small smile crossed Adrestia’s lips. “Hey, thanks. You didn’t do too bad yourself.”
"Thank you but…I think your observations may not be accurate."
Adrestia shrugged and threw her sweatshirt over a chair nearby. “You were trying, and Billy is an asshole so don’t listen to him.”
"I will…keep that in mind."
They were both silent for a moment. Adrestia stood up and walked toward the door.
"Keep at it, Bookworm." She said, and gave Asia a supportive punch in the shoulder. "I’m gonna go see if that purple chick knows where-"
"Miss Adrestia would…um…"
Adrestia turned around and leaned against the doorframe. “Whats up?”
Adrestia glanced behind her into the hallway. ”Me?”
"Yeah, sure bookworm…I don’t mind."
Some shippy fanfiction that makes us happy with the cuteness. Also Flux gets death stared.
